Melissa Thompson, DVM

Meet Dr. Thompson

Dr. Melissa Thompson came to Birmingham, Alabama in 1996 after living in IL,WI, PA, NC, Austrailia & Germany. She received her first undergraduate degree from the University of Montevallo- B.B.A. with a concentration in accounting. After working in corporate America she decided to pursue her dream of being a Veterinarian. She returned to the University of Montevallo to complete her Biochemistry degree and then attended Auburn University where she completed her DVM degree in 2010.

She has worked throughout the SE as a mixed animal veterinarian and relief vet. In 2018 she moved to the Hoover area and joined the Lake Crest Animal Clinic team of November of 2022. She has a strong interest in wound management, surgery, theriogenology and preventative medicine. She also enjoys working on many exotic species.

In her spare time she is busy exploring the outdoors with her son.
